Products > Pregnenolone July 6, 2008
Pregnenolone 25 mg.
Pregnenolone is a steroid hormone precursor that has been shown to be of clinical benefit in the following:
  • stress relief--opposes effects of cortisol, a pro-aging hormone
  • anti-aging
  • cognitive performance enhancement
  • motor performance enhancement
  • improved learning and memory
  • conective tissue and autoimmune disorders

Research on this hormone began in the 1940s, when famed endocrinology researcher Hans Selye--the "father of stress"--performed some of the earliest studies on pregnenolone. He concluded that the hormone reduces stress and fatigue and elevates energy.

More information about Pregnenolone Pregnenolone is the natural precursor--the basic hormone your body uses to synthesize other hormones--for all of the other steroid hormones, including estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, corticoids, and many others. Because of its position at the top of the steroid hormone cascade, it helps normalize all of the adrenal, testicular, and ovarian hormones. As such it has wide clinical usefulness.

Pregnenolone has been shown to enhance several aspects of neurological functioning, including cognitive benefits such as enhancing learning and memory, and motor-nerve effects such as improved psychomotor performance.

Pregnenolone has been used to benefit connective tissue disorders such as lupus and autoimmune/rheumatoid arthritis.
