L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the circulation. L-Glutamine is stored primarily in skeletal muscle. Found in high concentration in the gastrointestinal tract, L-Glutamine is the preferred fuel for the enterocytes of the small intestine. L-glutamine is important for the development of enterocytes, a type of cell that is plentiful in the epithelial lining of the gastrointestinal tract.
