L-Glutamine
Manufactured by Thorne Research
L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the circulation and is stored primarily in skeletal muscle. Found in high concentration in the GI tract, it is the preferred fuel for the enterocytes of the small intestine. Approximately 80% of your body's immune cells are located in the wall of the intestinal tract. L-glutamine is important for the development of enterocytes, a type of cell that is plentiful in the epithelial lining of the gastrointestinal tract. L-glutamine can help conserve muscle glycogen stores, stimulate growth hormone production, support neuronal health, and cross the blood-brain barrier where the brain uses it for fuel.
